FAQ
What is your therapy approach?
My counseling approach is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and I incorporate elements from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Positive Psychology and Mindfulness. I work holistically, which means that I take both personal and environmental factors into account in order to help you achieve positive change. This allows me to tailor each session to your unique situation.
What is the procedure to get counseling?
I offer in person therapy sessions in Hamburg and online sessions so that you can contact me from anywhere in the world.
I'll reply to you within 2 working days and answer any of your questions. We'll schedule our first session (50 minutes) within the next weeks. Further sessions are usually held weekly, depending on your needs. You determine the session frequency.
How does payment work?
A 15 minute free introductory session is available to see whether we're a fit. Payment is made via bank transfer or PayPal prior to each session for which you receive an invoice. Cancellations or changes must take place 24 hours prior to our session, otherwise the session fee must be paid.
Will my insurance cover the counseling costs?
I work in private practice and am registered with professional psychology organisations. However, the refund policies differ among health insurances. Some private health insurances cover a part of the costs of non-medical practitioners, some don't. If you have public health insurance, you'll need to pay for sessions privately. Please contact your insurance about their policy to be sure before booking any counseling sessions. In Germany, the costs for psychotherapy are deductible as extraordinary expenses according to the income tax law.
Do you offer internships?
Due to the strict confidentiality of my work, I do not offer any internships.
